The holiday season is filled with exciting parties, family time, and a wonderful feeling of closeness and joy. This feeling resonates through the Steeped Tea office and warehouse with our Founder and President, Tonia, spreading the spirit of the season and leading the way.

Tonia talks about what the holidays mean to her. Here’s what she had to share in our latest Talking with Tonia blog series:

Jimmy the Elf visits Tonia and her family!

What holiday traditions do you celebrate with your family each December?
Every holiday season, we put on our warmest clothes and go to a Christmas tree farm to hunt for the perfect tree. Sometimes we find it right away, and other times it takes us what seems hours! We have had a lot of hilarious moments over the past few years searching for our tree; our kids play an important part in picking it out. We also gather around the kitchen to construct the perfect Gingerbread house, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t! In the end, we just devour it and have a sugar high for the rest of the day. Two of the most anticipated traditions are the advent calendar each of my children receive and the first visit from Jimmy the Elf. Jimmy is always up to no-good, spreading holiday cheer and sharing the morals of Christmas with my kids. We all get a kick out of him!

What is your favorite part of the holiday season?
My absolute favorite part of the season is spending time with family and friends.  Some of the most popular activities at this time of year are cranking the Christmas tunes and decorating the house and tree with the kids. If it’s softly snowing outside, that’s a bonus.  I love a white Christmas!

Consultant Question: What are your earliest memories of drinking tea? – Leslie Couch, Senior Group Leader, Colorado, USA
My earliest memory of drinking tea is when I had a stomach ache as a kid. My Oma used to make me Peppermint tea to help me feel better. Peppy Peppermint always gives me a warm feeling and reminds me of her comforting care.

What is your favorite memory of 2015?
There are so many things to reflect on this year and so many happy moments. My favorite memories are a tie between the Steeped Tea Conference and adventuring to Costa Rica on our Steeped Tea Incentive Trip. I love spending time with the Consultants!
