Presenting Pu’erh tea!Posted on: August 17, 2012
It’s the tea with the funny name and the tea enthusiasts seem to be raving about! Pu’erh has made it into Steeped Tea’s hands and we are thrilled we get to share it with all of you! So with this brand new tea type that we are adding to our amazing arsenal of teas we expect to hear quite a few questions about the benefits, the history, and of course, the pronunciation of the name! We promise it’s not as tricky as it looks! Pu’erh tea isn’t a tea type that one hears about often – unless you are an avid Dr. Oz follower! – but we at Steeped Tea expect this interesting tea will have a very bright future! Pronounced ‘Pooh-air’, this is a post-fermented tea produced in China. It is a Chinese specialty and is sometimes referred to as dark tea, black tea (different from our North American black tea), or red tea. This tea can be rebrewed several times – some say as many as 10 times! Boy do you ever get a bang for your buck! At Steeped Tea, our new Pu’erh teas (featured in our Comfort and Joy Holiday Insert 2012, available September 1st) are sold in loose leaf form – though you may find these as dark, earthy teas in tea bricks as well. Take a look at Dr. Oz’s video on the benefits of Pu’erh tea http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/best-teas-weight-loss-pt-1 which also features a Pu’erh tea brick in all its’ glory! ![]() www.doctoroz.com In the video, Dr. Oz mentions that Pu’erh has been shown to shrink fat cells in the morning, through an enzyme activating agent that is found in the tea. Who would ever say no to that? So stay tuned for our two brand new Pu’erh teas, coming September 1st! They won’t disappoint! Happy Sipping :) 2 Responses to Presenting Pu’erh tea!Let Us Know What You Think |
